National School Resource Officer Day! Beau is top notch. When he isn’t securing schools and school activities, he is keeping the communities safe. The kids enjoy seeing him coming. Observant and dedicated. His testimony of his life is a positive influence on many. We are glad to have Beau as a Dahlonegah Indian!

Blue and Gold Sausage will be here on Tuesday, February 20th.
Thank you for your support!

Our book fair is under way! Too Fond of Books in Tahlequah has provided every student at Dahlonegah school with a book of their choice, regardless of price. This is an amazing opportunity to get books into the hands of our students. We appreciate the generosity of the bookstore. Our students were so excited to choose their book today.

The Valentine Family Engagement Night was a success! Thank you to everyone who joined us in the fun. Families made Valentines together and enjoyed cookies and punch. Thank you to our students, Jett and Jesse for reading the book "Valentine's Day" aloud to the group. Thank you to Echota Behavioral Health Services for providing the Narcan presentation. Every adult in attendance received 1-2 boxes of Narcan to take home. It was a very informative presentation, thanks again to our stakeholders for joining us!

Dear Parents/Guardians, due to the recent incline of sickness in our school, we have made the decision to have closed Valentine parties for our students on Wednesday. Please understand that we encourage and appreciate your support, but we are limiting outside visitors at this time. You may send store bought snacks and drinks for their parties (please no homemade baked goods). We are still accepting outside Valentine deliveries which will be passed out the last hour of the day during the parties. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Thank you, Administration.

If you are coming. for Family Engagement Night, please enter in the Parent pickup door!

Dear Parents,
Too Fond of Books is honored to bring Dahlonegah Public School a book
fair from February 13-16, 2024. The sole purpose of our book fair is to promote
literacy among Oklahoma students.
I’m sure most parents are very familiar with Scholastic Book Fairs. While
we applaud Scholastic for their efforts in advancing literacy among students, we
strive to offer a different type of book fair. Here are two major differences:
1. Every student attending Dahlonegah Public School will be able to
pick out one book to take home from our book fair at no cost to the school or
student. These books will be paid for through a partnership of the United
Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians, the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition and
Joe’s Bookcase, the nonprofit arm of Too Fond of Books.
2. Books purchased by students, parents, or teachers will not be
charged sales tax, as sales will take place directly between Too Fond of Books
and the Dahlonegah Public School.
Dahlonegah students will have opportunities to visit the Book Fair during
their library and free time, and possibly through class visits. We extend this
invitation to the entire family. We have provided a wide selection of books that
span many genres and varied reading levels.
Once again, we feel incredibly honored to offer our books to the students,
teachers and families of Dahlonegah Public School. If you all have any questions,
please don’t hesitate to message us at tfobooks@gmail.com.
Thank You!

Before Mid-Winter break our students were treated to a presentation by the Navajo Magician, Brian Yazzie. They were so amazed by the tricks and illusions that he performed. He encouraged students to believe in themselves, follow their dreams even if they seem impossible, and to make good choices that will affect their futures. It was a great way to head into the break. I think everyone had a great time, and just enjoyed laughing and watching the excitement of the kids.

Weather permitting on Monday, February 12th, we would like to invite everyone to join us for our Family Engagement Night. We will meet in the new cafateria from 4:00-5:30. Echota Behavioral Heath Services will be here to give a short presentation on how to recognize an fentanyl overdose and how to use Narcan correctly and potentially save a life. They will be giving away free Narcan, no questions asked. We will do a student read aloud, and make home made Valentines. Cookies and punch will be served. We hope you can join us! Please enter the building through the side door by the flag pole. Other entrances will be locked.
